Worthy, or unworthy?

Uncle Buck had this idea of HUNTBLOG, that perhaps the power of the internet could be bent to the will of the HUNT. Some time ago, there was a HUNT website: http://www.geocities.com/theranchinwesttexas/thehunt, here was collected the lore of the HUNT, as actually written by the men thereof. Uncle Buck grew weary of HUNTWEB chores and so abandoned this duties after the 14th HUNT. Apparently no one was willing, or able to take up the cause of e-HUNT and the HUNT web has languished since.

Uncle Buck is reminded of a time long ago, an almost legendary time when the HUNT existed, nay flourished before email or the internet. How was this possible? Some say the same forces that cause a goose to fly south in winter drove the men of the HUNT to east Texas. Are those forces still at work in these modern times, can the men find their way to the HUNT? If so, is this so-called HUNTBLOG as pointless as everything else on the internet?

If HUNTBLOG is useful, the men of the HUNT will make it so by posting comments on the BLOG. And if unworthy (whether by gay-ness or technophobia or laziness) it will be flung into the fire (symbolically, at any rate). Whether e-HUNT is worthy or not, the great and true and real HUNT is coming! Uncle Buck will see you there

In the absence of anything else, perhaps this will replace the HUNT website (preserved for antiquity here: http://www.geocities.com/theranchinwesttexas/thehunt). All you rodents have to do is click on the “comments” just below. You can create a BLOG identity, or sign in as “anonymous” and sign somewhere in the text. Is this better than the HUNT website? Probably not – is it better than the traditional HUNT email circle? I suppose we’ll see.

Consider this the jumping off point of the 17th HUNT. Whether any of this ga internet stuff works or not, Uncle Buck will see y’all there Friday afternoon.

To know the true nature of the HUNT you just need to be there. A weak substitute for the direct experience of the HUNT is this experimental HUNT BLOG. Here the men of the HUNT might pass on HUNT lore and wisdom in their own words, and past HUNTS could be recorded for the ages.

Study this site with care and, if you are worthy, the light of Minqueism, PALSY and TERCABOTHSAMMOOSRA will shine upon you for the first time and the essence of the HUNT may be partially revealed to you. Beyond these things, the HUNT might best be described by the things it is NOT:

• The HUNT is not about hunting


• The HUNT is not organized in any traditional sense


• The HUNT is not some sort of group hug


• The HUNT is not the “Burning Man”


• The HUNT is not rated PG-13
